FIRST BAPTIST SCHOOL is an outreach ministry of Christ First Baptist Church. The school was founded in 1970 and has ministered to the community by providing excellent care and a biblically integrated, comprehensive academic program that is developmentally appropriate.
At First Baptist School, children always come first – before planned curriculum, before rules, and before adult convenience. Psalms 127:3 “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from Him.” The goal of our program is to work with each child’s natural development and to support the emerging self within. Play with a purpose is the primary vehicle for curriculum. Our goal is to create an age appropriate environment that provides for children to achieve their optimum development.
At First Baptist School all children are welcome; we do not discriminate based on race, color, creed, or ethnic origin. We believe children are a gift from God and consider each child that comes to us a blessing. We minister to children two years old through Kindergarten. We are licensed by the State of California, Department of Social Services (license # 191500173) and are accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International.
Cody's Courtyard
Cody's Courtyard was dedicated September 13, 1998 in memory of Cody Lund to provide a recreation center where children may gather to participate in supervised recreation activities in safe environment. It serves as a place to learn practical biblical values of fellowship and character development and to provide the opportunity for individuals to know Christ and grow toward full maturity in Him. Basketball at Cody’s
There is an opportunity for youth to be involved in a league that is focused upon Christ. It is not about winning or losing, but about growing in techniques and healthy attitudes that glorify God. There are two different leagues: 7-9 year olds, and 10-13 year olds. Both leagues include both genders. 13 year olds must be enrolled in 8th grade. Cost: $50.00 per child includes jersey, trophy & team photo. Note: Coaches children play free. There are also two seasons for the Basketball League. One in the fall and one in the spring. Call the church office for specific times of upcoming sign-ups, tryouts, and schedules. The practices generally consist of a 50 minute practice and a 10 minute Biblically based discussion. Community Harvest Festival
Every year on October 31, Christ First Baptist works with neighboring churches to host a great Halloween alternative for our community. We provide a huge Harvest Festival with trunk-r-treat, carnival games, inflatable toys and bounce houses, a petting zoo, food, karaoke, and lots and lots of candy. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to provide a safe, fun Halloween alternative to families of all ages, as well as to share the love of Christ with our community. The fun begins at sunset and concludes at 8:30pm. We hope you come join us this year!
